AMD’s Phenom II reaches 6.5GHz: a new record in 3DMark is set

A team of crazy hardcore speed freaks overclocked one of AMD’s latest Phenom II X4 chips using liquid nitrogen and liquid helium creating an environment of -232 degrees Celsius.
Once the silicon was appropriately chilled, they proceeded to push the clock speed to an insane 6.5GHz, that delivered an absurd score of 45,474 in 3DMark05. Read more
Google goes to the next level of data sorting

Google just announced that they just sorted 1 Tb of data across 1000 computers in 68 seconds. Yes, you read it right, only if it were a world record for something like this. The previous ‘attempt’, according to Google, was done in 209 seconds and it sorted 1 Tb across 910 computers.
Google also acknowledges that they had triple redundancy and it’s an important factor in this benchmark, as the data was backed up on 3 different hard drives. Read more

This name made me laugh as I was expecting some brand to this player and why not, maybe some specifications, but no, “World’s thinnest MP4 player”, as the producers brag themselves is a..MP4 player really.
