World’s first 1-gigabit, 44-nano DRAM chip

The guys working at Hynix Semiconductor company announced this Sunday the world’s first 1-gigabit dynamic random access memory chip.
What do we know so far: the 1-gigabit DDR3 DRAM chip uses 44-nanometer technology and they say it will be 50 percent more productive than the previous standard 54-nanometer technology. Read more

Corsair announces the new SSD 2.5-inch 128GB drive

Since many producers entered so fast in the solid state market, it was time for Corsair to join the party with a first in a new range of SSDs.
It is the new 2.5-inch 128GB SSD MLC NAND-based drive. Read and write speeds are of 90MB/sec and 70MB/sec.

To be honest we were kinda hoping to hear that announcement from Seagate, but it seems that WD slapped those workers harder and voila the new Caviar Green 2000GB WD20EADS. It will be officially launched somewhere this week it will feature 32MB of cache, 8.9ms seek time and it will run either at 7200 or 5400RMP.
