The APC40 from Akai Pro is especially designed for Ableton Live and it will allow you to see the state of each function that is controlled. The controller also communicates to Live and the software responds back so at all times you get feedback on the led rings around the knobs.

On the controller you can also see the state of your clips, what’s being played and what’s recorded.
It was about time for someone to come up with a handy controller for Ableton, and it seems that AKAI did a pretty good job.
