ocz esata 290x207The new trend is clearly going into a new direction, as eSATA ports are starting to become more and more mainstream.

OCZ enters the market with a new eSATA flash drive with prices estimated ( by Register Hardware) at $32 for the 8GB model, $56 for 16GB and $160 for 32GB. The Throttle also features a mini-USB port that will allow users to plug the device into laptops or any other USB only machines.

In tests, OCZ stated that the flash drive reached speeds of up to 90MB/s, and writes speeds as fast as 30MB/s. That’s pretty fast, but also USB3.0 is very close so we’ll just have to wait and see who is better and faster.
