MINI-E
Built by BMW itself, the much-anticipated electric MINI will be available soon for US test drivers.
We want one also, so we are curious what this electric Mini can do
It has 204 hp of electric motor, it can run for 150 mile range with a 35 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and it can hit 62 mph in 8.5 seconds. Charging the battery takes just 2.5 hours. The regenerative braking system is also in place to help recharging the battery when city driving.
BMW will lease only 500 of these to commercial and private customers in California, New York and New Jersey in early 2009, and Europe soon after that.
No info yet on when we’ll see this car ready for the masses, but we shall wait patiently…
