S Series: The new Samsung HDD line

Samsung recently announced the launch of its new high capacity hard drives, the S series. The new storage products include a 2.5 inch S2 portable drive and a 1.8 inch S1 Mini. The 2.5 S2 drive weights around 254g and comes with capacities from 16 0Gb to 50 0Gb. The S1 mini however, has a weight of 91 grams and a capacity range of 80-160 Gb.

Also, Samsung implemented a backup featured for the new drives, allowing the users to configure a backup scheduler, which will run automatically at given times. The new Samsung S Series line-up will hit the markets on the forth quarter of 2008 in the US, following Europe and Japan. The drives are also expected to come in different colors and smaller external cases.
