Nintendo: more storage with SD Cards
The default Wii card has a 512MB internal memory for the saving of games and now it seems that we are gonna get more storage space in the Spring of next year.
The new SD card will be available in 1 and 2 GB and if you were wondering what else could you save on that SD card other than…games, well think again:
“Data storage for digital cameras, cell phones, and PCs. The Wii console accepts SD Cards. MiniSD and microSD Cards can be used with the Wii when they use their respective adapters. An SD memory card can be used to store Wii-related data such as game save information, certain data from the Wii Channel applications, and to transfer compatible data (such as digital photos and MP3s) to the Wii console from other devices.”
So there you have it, lots of storage space for lots of…things.

Uh, useless news. Any SD card works in the Wii for half the price of the ‘official’.

Not that useless, Nintendo announced another Wii storage solution, different from the default 512MB internal memory.
And do not forget that Wii does not support SDHC (which is normally 4GB or larger).
