Apple: There aren’t any benzene emissions in Mac Pros
The first report appeared in the french newspaper Libération, publishing a study from a French researcher that claimed Apple Mac Pros built in 2008, emit a strange odor. The news was picked up by several tech sites and blogs all over the US, starting the buzz.
Several complaints were launched in the past, claiming that strange odors are coming from the Mac Pros, but the odors were associated with the Mac Pro plastic strips or heatsink materials. The French researcher claims that Mac Pro emits benzene emissions which won’t kill you, but it will greatly harm your health in the long run. Apple also stated that it looked into the issue, but no proof of benzene emissions were found. However, the study wasn’t rejected completely by Apple, the company states that they will look further into the issue.
