fujifilm-finepix-z20fd-728-75-290x217Back a few years ago 3D was the real hype, but now we’re getting a bit tired as every gadget has to have at least a 3D feature. In all this 3D madness, Fujifilm will release the world’s first digital camera that can take 3D photos. Based on FinePix Real 3D System technology, the camera creates the illusion of depth by taking two slightly different shots every time the shutter button is pressed.

The mechanism is simple but quite amazing: the 3D photo is achivied by having the two lenses placed on the front of the camera, then combining them in the final image.
Fujifilm stated that they will produce a monitor that can show the 3D shots and also a photo printing service that can handle the extra dimension.
Stay tuned for more details and maybe a release date.
