Nokia Confirms the “iPhone Killer”: Nokia Tube
If you have seen the “Dark Knight” movie, I’m quite sure you have spoted that cool Nokia phone that Batman was using - a lot. That’s the new Nokia Tube ladies and gentleman, and some inside voices are saying that it will be released on 8 October.
The full-touchscreen handset designed by the Finnish company, aims to be a direct competitor for Apple’s iPhone. Not as highly featured as many mobile users would want, but it still packs enough goodies to be considered better than the iPhone.
The handset looks less wide than the iPhone, hence it apparently has a smaller display. The display is larger than 3 inches and comes with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Tube’s thickness is still unknown, but it is rumored that it is ,overall, smaller than Nokia N73.
If we look closer we can spot three hardware keys, inside we have 3G connectivity (HSDPA and UMTS), GPRS and EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS with geotagging, UPnP (Universal Plug and Play), Bluetooth, advanced audio features and “tactility feedback”. The new phone will also include support for the DVB-H mobile TV standard for Europe and mobile video.
No info about a release date for the phone, and not even about when Nokia will come with official details regarding the Tube.
