Life saver gadgets - The Heart Guardian
The new gadget from Latvian company, the Heart Guard system might save your life someday. Simply put, this matchbox-sized device, when is attached to your chest with five electrodes it will transmit heartbeat data wirelessly and in real time, to a PDA or mobile phone for data analysis.
Discreet enough to be worn 24 hours a day, it will record, analysing and report the heart’s rhythm and electrical activity but also the wearer’s physical activity and body positions.
“If Heart Guard detects a problem, patients are alerted by means of vibration or a buzzer, prompting them to check their PC for further information and advice,” ( Juris Lauznis, Director of Integris). “At the very least, the device will help to monitor and manage a patient’s condition – and it could even save a life.”
If you wanna buy it, you’ll have to wait till 2009 as it is still under EU compliance and safety testing.
