Reservations for the Space Hotel have started

Already the reservations for the space holiday resort project have started and a single trip will cost £3 million . Yes, it is that expensive but not for everyone it seems; thirty eight travellers have already booked a flight ticket.

The first flight of the Galatic Suite Project will take place in 2012 and, for £3 million, you will get a four day trip 300 miles into space, but first you’ll take an eighteen week space travel training programme on a Caribbean island which, a program that will “not only carry you through a briefed astronaut training process, it will be a very relaxing time in a tropical paradise island.” ( http://www.galacticsuite.com/)

“Tourists come to the hotel with all the necessary items to stay, as if they were staying at the most extreme refuge on earth”( the project’s founder and director, Xavier Claramunt).”This refuge will offer a mixed programme of reflection and exercise to seize the unique physical conditions encountered in space”.

After spending a few weeks on the island travellers will be sent into space at the company’s space hotel, orbiting the earth at around 30,000 km/h, completing 15 orbits per day – around the world in 90 minutes, seeing a sunrise every 45 minutes.

Galactic Suite stated that  “ultimate goal is to be the world’s largest chain of space resorts, and to make space tourism accessible to the general public.”
