google-suggest-google1-290x273If you’re a Mozzila Firefox user, I’m quite sure that you have noticed that cool “suggest” feature implemented in the search bar. Over the next week, Google will be implementing the same feature - Google Suggest, its auto-complete for searches, on its homepage at Google.com.

This service will allows users to see the most commonly searched phrases after entering just a few letters, allowing faster typing and easy check for spelling errors. If you want to try out this new service you can find it here.

Reading the company’s blog post, we find out that the feature has been a long time coming:
“The Google Suggest feature originally started as a 20% project in 2004, and has since expanded to Google Labs, Toolbar, Firefox search box, Maps and Web Search for select countries, the iPhone and BlackBerry, YouTube, and now Google.com.”
