The latest announcement from Sony Corp concerning the new 160GB PS3 model took the gaming world by surprise especially when they stated that it will be a limited edition.
“The 160GB is a special edition PS3, which will be available for the peak season. Once the peak season is over, we will reassess the situation.”
Sony Australia stated that it would be a “limited-edition SKU”, which clearly points out that the new console is gonna be available only for a short time.
All features of the console remain the same and Sony says the increased 160GB of storage is perfect for those who like to download movies and video games from the PlayStation network as well as those who like to store music, movies and photos on the PS3.
The 160GB PS3 will come packed with the new Dualshock 3 wireless controller and a limited edition Drake: Uncharted Fortune bundle using the new 160GB PS3 in America for $499. The bundle will also include a free download of the game PAIN. The limited edition bundle will go on sale at the end of October.

Yes, so far that’s the plan. The 160 GB model will be a limited edition. But things might change, who knows.:)
