Will laptops replace our desktops in the future?

The market was strongly dominated by desktop computers for many years now, but as technology evolved and of course, prices got a little soft on our pockets, laptops/notebooks become more and more preferred. Now, the question is, will laptops replace our desktops in the near future? Well, let’s see..

Analysis

First of all, we can say that through technology, laptops have now reached the power of any above average desktop computer. Looking not so far in history, laptops were equipped with low-mid end hardware for different reasons (power consumption, thickness etc), in our times, you can find laptops with the same configuration as your desktop, with affordable prices. Why would you keep your desktop computer? The laptop looks good, it’s thick, fits in a handbag and has your desired specifications.

Oh, you want to see movies at home or play games on the big screen? So what..just plug your LCD to your laptop, a keyboard and voila, it’s also a desktop computer. Ya, you don’t have the 2 TB you had on the desktop, but you can buy an external HDD with no problem and just plug-it via USB. If you need to attend a business trip, you just unplug your laptop from the peripherals connected and you’re on the road with all your information too.

Now, please tell me, will the average home user still buy a desktop in the near future?
