MiniNova: New features added
Mininova started in January 2005 and now is one of the largest torrent listing sites. It is somehow the successor to the Suprnova.org, which was shutdown at the end of 2004 due to some legal issues. It works like a directory and search engine for all kinds of torrent files.
Everyone can anonymously upload torrents to this site, tracked by any BitTorrent tracker except pornographic submissions. As of February 19, 2008, there are over almost 550,000 torrents in the Mininova database and many of the torrents contain links to copyright protected material.
Recently MiniNova had some new features added: personal bookmarking and remote downloading. Bookmarking allows the user to choose the torrents he wishes to download, and store them away for later downloading. MiniNova also introduced the remote downloading feature that enables the user to add create an RSS feed of torrents, aided by the bookmarking feature. “Now, if you’re at work and see the latest album of your favorite featured artist, just hit the ‘Add to bookmarks’ button”. The torrent is then added to your bookmarks and in no time your BitTorrent client at home will refresh the feed and notice your new torrent. Your client will automaticly start the downloading of the torrent in the background, so by the time you’re home the download is complete.
Happy downloading !
