Blizzard announces Diablo 3 !!
Be ready to buy a mouse that can take a beating because the hack and slash age will soon be back bigger and better than ever and I think many of you Blizzard fans out there know already what I’m talking about. The moment we’ve all been waiting for years and years ( ten to be more specific) has finally arrived : Blizzard has officially announced Diablo III at its World Wide Invitational event in Paris.
What can we expect in the third part: five classes , (only the barbarian and the witch doctor have been revealed) , a new Tristam , several control improvements such as zoom capability and a tasty looking skills hotbar, allowing a fast change by using mouse wheel or the Tab key.
The engine is a custom one and it can display characters and hordes of monsters in fully, awesome looking 3D environments. It will also include special-effects systems and Havok-powered physics allowing the player to kill and hack the hell’s minions in the most spectacular ways (gore baby !). Another interesting thing is that Diablo III builds random environments of the previous Diablo games by introducing new ways to create random scripted events throughout the game, this allowing new challenges at all time.
Don’t worry about your friends getting lost in the single-player mode because Battle-net will be up and running; Blizzard hasn’t revealed yet how many players will be able to join in one session, but my guess is that the number will be around eight just like in Diablo II.
About the story line and characters we don’t know too much , but it seems Deckard Cain is back and he is pissed, and also some old faces from previous Diablo games. (hmmm Diablo??)
The system requirements are to be soon revealed but Im pretty sure that it will run even on computers that are not top of the line; and as always Diablo III will ship for both Windows and Mac simultaneously.
You can watch the Intro and also gameplay movie and lots of other cool stuff on the official site : http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/
